Day 3 & 4 Updates

Hey Everyone -

Just a quick note since our internet/cell phone connections are pretty much non-existent. We are currently in our last night in Canon City, CO. Tomorrow we head out to northern Colorado - Estes Park, CO for a couple nights. Yesterday, (Friday, June 19th) we left New Mexico for Colorado. First, we stopped at Petraglyphs National Monument to take a short hike to see many Native American petraglyphs. After that we decided to stop off at Fort Union National Monument in Colorado. Shelley bought a "National Parks Passport" to get stamps and stickers from all the National Parks and Monuments in the U.S., so now we are trying to fill up as many stamps/pages on this vacation. Fort Union ended up being very cool and historical.

Today, Saturday, June 20th, we took a train ride along/in the Royal Gorge. The weatgher was cloudy and slight drizzles, but not too bad. We took this ride and the views and history of the train/tracks was amazing. We left there and headed out to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument (Shelley's third stamp!) and hiked around there and saw many petrified trees and fossils. The place was beautiful and very cool. The drives along this state are amazing - why do we live in California still? Hmmmmmmm....

I'll post some pictures when we can get some wireless reception. Good night...
